Christmas Rocks Hike

Posted on 2/26/2015 by State Nature Preserves

Discover the beauty of winter serenity. Hosted by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' Division of Natural Areas and Preserves, visitors are invited to attend a four-mile guided hike at Christmas Rocks State Nature Preserve on Sunday, March 1 from 1 to 5 p.m.

This strenuous outdoor program includes walking the preserve's entire trail system including the hike up to Jacob's Ladder for a memorable view. The preserve is home to a wetland as well as mixed and ridge-top woodlands. Depending on snow cover, the landscape may even reveal early signs of spring.

Participants should wear sturdy hiking shoes and dress for the wintry temperature. Children are welcome, but please remember pets are not allowed in state nature preserves. The hike will begin from the preserve parking lot.
