running buffalo cloverIn 2014, Nature Preserves staff counted approximately 3,300 rooted crowns of the once-assumed extinct running buffalo clover, Trifolium stoloniferum, at Boch Hollow, which is by far the largest known population in the state.

Leadership Changes for Natural Areas and Preserves

NewsAfter 30 years of dedicated state service with Ohio State Parks and Natural Areas, ODNR Deputy Director Glen Cobb retired at the end of June. Deputy Director Gary Obermiller will now lead both Natural Areas and Preserves and Ohio State Parks.

New Facilities at Scioto Brush Creek State Nature Preserve

Marilyn Ortt Memorial

Boord State Nature PreserveA great friend of natural areas and expert botanist, Marilyn Ortt, passed away in May. Many individuals enjoyed her friendship and generous spirit and her legacy will live on.
