Access to Baker Woods State Nature Preserve, a 47-acre preserve located in Mercer County, has been greatly improved thanks to an ongoing partnership between the Village of Coldwater, the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Division of Natural Areas and Preserves.

Did you know that the Division of Natural Areas and Preserves maintains a Tall Grass Prairie that features Ohio native wildflowers and grasses each year at the State Fair? This oasis of biodiversity is located in the southeast corner of the fairgrounds - just north of 11th Avenue.

Ohio law stipulates that The Division of Natural Areas and Preserves administers Ohio’s official Rare Plant List. The law also requires the Ohio Rare Plant List be revised every 2 years.
