End of Spring Wildflower Season Nears- Ohio Wildflower Bloom Report for May 13, 2016

We’ve had a very different spring wildflower season this year compared to last. Cool temperatures and rain have dominated. The end result gave us a long, slow, season. But while it may not have been intense and condensed as last year, it was beautiful none the less.

Cool and Wet Weather Extends Season- Ohio Wildflower Bloom Report for May 6, 2016

This wildflower season started early this year, and it just kept going this week thanks to below normal temperatures and rain. Large white trillium, our state wildflower, is still blooming throughout the state, although it is rapidly fading in the south.

Peak Bloom Reaches Northern Ohio- Ohio Wildflower Bloom Report for April 29, 2016

What a week for wildflowers! Cool temperatures across the state with plenty of rain will likley extend the season for just a little bit longer. Trilliums are at peak across northern Ohio, while orchids and the woodland irises are blooming in the south. This week should be excellent for spring wildflower viewing once again.
