Ohio Wildflower Bloom Report - April 10, 2015

Over the past week, much of Ohio experienced steady rainfall and cool temperatures producing ideal conditions for an extended blooming period of early spring wildflowers. Central Ohio saw the opening of bloodroot, Dutchman’s breeches and rue-anemone. The leaves and stems of wildflowers have emerged and bloom season will finally arrive in the north next week.

Ohio Wildflower Bloom Report - April 3, 2015

With this week’s warm spell, at least a ten species of wildflowers are now blooming across southern Ohio. Early bloomers will just be opening this weekend in central Ohio, and northern Ohio is still on the cusp of the wildflower season with temperatures predicted to reach the high 50’s and above next week. Steady rainfall in the forecast will help ensure healthy, vigorous blooms across the state.
